Most “Not So Model” infractions can easily be corrected by the offender providing some sort of bribe to the offended. Such bribes include, but are not limited to: money, concert tickets, sporting event tickets, fine cigars, free rounds of golf, and of course, good alcohol as demonstrated by our Model Citizens in London!

What’s worse? Distracted cell phone drivers or inconsiderate road hogs? Today I was lucky enough to come across a not so model citizen that possessed both of these great attributes. I had just pumped gas, and needed to make a right turn out of the station, into the left turn lane. Now this was a fairly busy 4 lane street, so the window of opportunity for me to make it into that left turn lane was pretty small. I was in luck however, because there were only 2 cars in the lane closest to me (but not blocking me), and the rest of the lanes were open. This would make my exit much more expedient. Unfortunately, as I got ready to pull out, a lady in a Mercedes SUV comes racing along the right lane, and stops right in front of me. Blocking me in. What’s worse, is that she was sitting there yapping on her cell phone, completely oblivious to what was going on.

I came across a “Not So Model” incident today at the local supermarket which I would like to highlight as today’s topic of choice. Now keep in mind this was a Trader Joe’s market, so the checkout aisles were not heavily partitioned like those of traditional supermarkets.

They are more like rows of checkout kiosks with a small conveyor belt and cashier to ring up your purchase. As I got ready to pay for my items, the situation at the checkout aisles was as follows:
Aisle 1: Two people in line
Aisle 2: One person in line
Aisle 3: One person in line
As I approach the checkout, I noticed a couple straddling aisles 2 and 3, hesitant to commit to a specific cashier. I proceed to stand in aisle 3, but still maintaining some distance BEHIND the hasty couple. The couple then proceeds to walk over to aisle 1, which looks to have moved further along then the other aisles. Dissatisfied with the line status of aisle 1, the couple then RETURNS to aisle 3, but this time they cut directly in front of me! Now they must have justified this rude behavior in their little brains by the fact that they were 1/2 way in my aisle earlier… but once you commit to another aisle, all bets are off!
